Patriot Place restaurants will be serving another helping of their best chili for charity at the fourth annual Patriot Place Chili Bowl Cook Off presented by Bass Pro Shops on Saturday, March 28, from 1-3 p.m. The event, located at Bass Pro Shops, will feature celebrity judges and all proceeds benefit the Hockomock Area YMCA’s Reach Out For Youth & Families Campaign.

Cast members from National Geographic Channel’s hit series “Wicked Tuna,” Captain Bill Muniz (F/V Lily), Pilot Mark Brochu (F/V Lily) and First Mate Gregg Gibbs (F/V Kristiana), will join former New England Patriots offensive lineman Peter Brock and others to judge chili entries from nine Patriot Place restaurants and determine the winner of the 2015 Judges’ Award for best chili at Patriot Place. The public will also have an opportunity to taste samples and cast their vote for the 2015 Fan Favorite Award.

“We are proud to once again partner with Bass Pro Shops to host our fourth Chili Bowl Cook Off featuring the best chili recipes Patriot Place restaurants have to offer,” said Patriot Place General Manager Brian Earley. “This is a wonderful family event that continues to grow in popularity. Last year, this event raised more than $2,000 for the Hockomock Area YMCA’s Reach Out For Youth and Families Campaign and we hope to raise even more funds for local children and families in need this year.

Competing this year for the Chili Bowl Cook Off’s top prizes are: Blue Fin Lounge at Bass Pro Shops, CBS Scene Restaurant & Bar, Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse, Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Skipjack’s, Splitsville Luxury Lanes, Tavolino, Twenty8 and Uncle Buck’s at Bass Pro Shops. Past champions have been Davio’s (2014 Judges’ Award and Fan Favorite), Tavolino (2013 Judges’ Award and Fan Favorite; 2012 Fan Favorite) and Twenty8 (2012 Judges’ Award).

“We are looking forward to hosting the Chili Cook Off again this year along with our partners from Patriot Place,” said Jeff Moschella, operations manager at Bass Pro Shops. “Our team loves to host and participate each year.  We are especially excited to have some of the team from ‘Wicked Tuna’ as our celebrity judges this year. The YMCA is such an important part of our community and we feel this event is a great opportunity for us to give back.”

Tickets, which can be purchased at Bass Pro Shops the day of the event, are $5 per person with children 5-and-under free. All proceeds will go to the Hockomock Area YMCA’s  Reach Out for Youth and Families Campaign, which kicked off its 2015 fundraising efforts on March 17 at Gillette Stadium with the goal of raising more than $1.1 million for the initiative.

“We are grateful for our partnership with Patriot Place and Bass Pro Shops and all they do for our Y and the local community,” said Ed Hurley, president of the Hockomock Area YMCA. “We look forward to this fun, family event each year. Our YMCA is committed to partnering and collaborating with others to create lasting personal and social change in the communities we serve.  Funds raised from this event provide confidential scholarship assistance, giving Y experiences including summer camp, child care and teen programs to local children and families in need.”
