COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT
Steps off Broadway Productions, Inc., will be performing the stage production of Fiddler on the Roof on August 17th, 23rd, 24th at 7:30 PM and August 18th and 25th at 2:00 PM

Franklin resident will play one of the lead roles in the performance of Fiddler on the Roof. Kerri Cooper of Franklin will be taking the stage as Golde. Cooper is a mom of two girls and is also a drama instructor at Southeastern Regional Vocational High School. She will be sharing the stage with Joseph Conlon of Cumberland, RI. They will have the opportunity to work under the director Cheryl Swift of New York City. Cheryl comes to Bellingham with many years of experience in the business. Cheryl has worked as a dancer in Disney, been a dance captain for the Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast, has performed in many broadway productions overseas including Fiddler. Swift will be joined by Bellingham’s own, Keith Mottola with the production help from Arlena Boyle of Upton, MA. The Muscial Director is Esther Zabinski of Pawtucket, RI. Swift was assisted by Leta Kritzman Lenik in staging the Wedding scene.

This show is based on Tevye and his Daughters (or Tevye the Milkman and Other Tales) by Sholem Aleichem. The story centers on Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to maintain his family and Jewish religious traditions while outside influences encroach upon their lives. He must cope with both the strong-willed actions of his three older daughters—each one’s choice of husband moves further away from the customs of her faith—and with the edict of the Tsar that evicts the Jews from their village.

Tickets for this production can be purchased through Steps by emailing tickets@stepsoffbroadway.com or calling 508-876-9797. There are no refunds or exchanges on tickets. All shows will be held at Steps Off Broadway’s own theater at 799 South Main Street, Bellingham, MA, in the Bellingham Marketplace.
