Massachusetts Autism Insurance Law Workshop

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT

Tuesday, October 2, 2012
7-9 PM

Learn what Massachusetts law now requires medical insurance companies to cover when it comes to the care for children who have Autism.

Amy Weinstock (from Advocates for Autism of Massachusetts) will be explaining the new Autism Insurance Legislation and what it means for families. On Aug. 3, 2010, Gov. Deval Patrick signed a bill entitled “An Act Relative to Insurance Coverage for Autism” (ARICA). Beginning January 1, 2011, ARICA requires health insurers in Massachusetts to provide coverage for the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorder. Join us to determine if your health insurance plan falls under ARICA, what treatments may be covered, and how education services are affected.
