COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Foxborough Board of Health would like to advise the community that April is Rabies Awareness Month. Millions of adults and children are treated each year, in the United States, for animal bites and scratches. We would like to remind you about the importance of getting your dogs and cats vaccinated against rabies, which will reduce the risk of animal bites and other potential rabies exposures.

We will be sponsoring our annual RABIES CLINIC with Dr. Moschella, Foxboro Animal Hospital on Saturday, April 5, 2014, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Foxboro Highway Garage at 70 Elm Street, the fee is $10. (8:00am–10:00am for cats and 10:00am–12:00pm for dogs). The Foxboro Animal Control Inspector, Sue Thibedeau will be doing micro-chipping for a fee.

People can reduce their risk from rabies by taking the following precautions:

• Avoid contact with wildlife, including strange dogs and cats.
• Bat-proofing your home.
• Make sure your pet is vaccinated.
• Educate your children on ways to avoid being bitten.
