Stone-E-Lea hosts Oktoberfest benefit to support the work of On Common Ground Mentor Center

Oktoberfest Local News FoxboroStone-E-Lea Golf Course is the host site for On Common Ground’s 2nd Annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 18th from 6-10pm, 1411 County Street, South Attleboro.

Please join us in “getting on our German” as we usher in the fall season in a beautiful setting. You’ll be treated to an evening of German foods (roast your bratwurst on our outdoor fire pit), music, beer sampling, Name that Tune, raffles and special purchases. Tickets are $20pp. Cash bar.

All ticket holders will be entered into a free raffle for a chance to win our Door Prize Raffle. Tickets may be purchased at Stone-E-Lea, the On Common Ground office at 508-226-0801 or on PayPal at

All proceeds go to support On Common Ground Mentor Center program, providing hope in times of poverty to those in need.

Norwood Hospital Wears Pink Gloves for Breast Cancer Awareness

Pink GlovesIn recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, staff at Norwood Hospital are wearing pink exam gloves to raise awareness for breast cancer and the importance of screening mammograms for early detection.

The gloves were purchased through Medline Industries, Inc., who began manufacturing and distributing the Generation Pink® Gloves to support its partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation® (NBCF). For each case of pink gloves sold, Medline makes a contribution to the NBCF to help fund and support mammograms, education, and prevention and awareness efforts. Peacebuilding Presentation at Kol Tikvah in Sharon

Temple Kol Tikvah will host a presentation on Sunday November 16 at 700pm entitled “Arab-Jewish Peacebuilding Projects: What is Their Future?”

Come learn about the extraordinary variety and creativity of Arab-Jewish peacebuilding projects in Israel, the United States, and elsewhere, and about how the recent fighting impacted several well-established youth projects.

This program is co-sponsored by the Sharon Clergy Association, and is free and open to the public. The speaker, Dr. Harriet Feinberg of Cambridge, is an educator whose commitment to peacebuilding in the Middle East goes back several decades.Temple Kol Tikvah is located at 9 Dunbar Street in Sharon.
