Starting next Thursday evening, September 26, 2013, the Homework Center will begin its second year offering a free homework program for teens in the local community. Open every Thursday from 6pm to 8pm, the drop-in center is open to any student in grades 6-12.
Teens are encouraged to make this is a regular spot to meet friends and classmates to jointly work on their studies.
In addition to providing a friendly and supportive environment for students to tackle their homework, certified teachers will also be available to assist students when they need it. Stuck on a math problem, big test coming up, or writers block for that essay? Trailed adult educators can help students work through the roadblocks, prepare for exams and give individual instruction as needed.
Snacks and beverages will also be provided.
The Homework Center will be held in the Youth Pit at the Church of Emmanuel, located at 106 Central St/Route 140, down the street from the Mobil station and next to Foxfield Auto.
