Patriot Place’s popular St. Patrick’s Day weekend event to feature live Irish music, step dancing performances and free Irish-themed family activities
The free festival begins at 11 a.m. and will occur rain or shine
Patriot Place is gearing up to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day weekend with the lifestyle center’s 10th annual Irish Festival on Saturday, March 16. The daylong festival, which is free and open to the public, begins at 11 a.m. and features live performances by Irish musicians and step dancers along with free Irish-themed games and activities for children of all ages to enjoy.
The live music will take place on the main stage outside of Splitsville Luxury Lanes™ | Howl at the Moon | Topgolf Swing Suite and a second stage outside of Charming Charlie in the North Marketplace. The main stage will feature performances by Fenian Sons (11 a.m. – noon), Joshua Tree (12:30-1:30 p.m.) and Devri (2-4 p.m.) while the second stage will feature Stanley & Grim (11 a.m. – 1 p.m.) and the Celtic Ks (2-4 p.m.).
The Old Colony Highlanders Pipe Band will be performing throughout Patriot Place from noon to 2 p.m.
The main stage will also be holding Irish step dancing performances by the Sullivan-Stewart Studio of Irish Dance of Plainville (noon – 12:30 p.m.), the School of Irish dance of The Harney Academy of Walpole (1:30 – 2 p.m.) and the Greene-O’Leary School of Irish Dance of Needham Westwood, Milton, and Dedham (2:20 – 2:50 p.m.).
Irish merchants like Boston Fire Gear, Erie’s Shop, The Irish Shop, New England Novelty, Mulligan Gear and JAT Creations (Irish and Celtic jewelry) will be set up throughout Patriot Place.
Free Irish-themed activities scheduled throughout the day include a sheep petting zoo, a caricature artist, an Irish-themed STEM program presented by The Children’s Museum of Easton, balloon twisting by Dan’s Balloons, face painting and a photo booth, just to name a few. Additionally, New England Patriots mascot, Pat Patriot, New England Revolution mascot, Slyde, and the Revolution Street Team will be making special appearances at the festival.
“The Irish Festival has become a St. Patrick’s Day weekend tradition at Patriot Place over the years and this year’s event will be cause for added celebration as it marks our 10th festival,” said Patriot Place Vice President and General Manager Brian Earley. “We have an excellent lineup of bands performing live Irish music to create a festive atmosphere throughout the property while guests of all ages are able to enjoy the many Irish vendors, games and activities we have planned throughout the day. It’s an event I always look forward to and am excited to celebrate the joys of the Irish culture and kick off St. Patrick’s Day weekend on March 16 at Patriot Place.”
