The Sage School Announces Interactive Virtual Summer Workshops

The Sage School of Foxboro is excited to announce our virtual camp experience, providing a combination of advanced academics, adventures, creativity and innovation, through workshops, demonstration, experimentation, and hands-on learning.

A pivot from the traditional bricks and mortar summer camp, known as Summer Sage, this unique experience, which takes place June 29-July  31, will include weekly ‘camp in a box’ kits delivered to students near and far in Exploration (PK-K), Innovation (Grades 1-4), and Academy (Grades 5-8).

Students will log on to Google Meet with same-aged peers for morning (9 AM -11 AM) and afternoon (12 PM – 2 PM) sessions. Sessions will consist of short periods of teaching, followed by demonstrations, experimentations, crafts, arts, podcasting and videomaking to name a few. The sessions are taught by Sage faculty and alumni, through an integrated approach, incorporating STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) and Humanities (literacy, history, social studies), in ways that will spark curiosity and inspire discovery.

Youngest campers in Exploration can become an official Sage paleontologist for the week and explore history through prehistorical activities and crafts, creating replica fossils and dinosaur eggs in the workshop “Digging for Dinosaurs.” Sage Innovation campers can build endurance, coordination and balance in “Multi-Sports and Fitness” or enjoy fun and simple mechanics experiments in “Fun with Physics.” The older campers can build their STEM skills in workshops like “Build a Robot,” “Code Your Own Game”, “Video Editing Skill Builder,” “Basic of Movie Writing”, “Physics”, “Podcasting” and so much more

Sessions are $200 for the week, which includes the themed kit and Summer Sage t-shirt. This summer, participants will have the unique opportunity to travel “virtually” to and participate in classes with others in a “classroom” where their curiosity will be piqued and they can learn from teachers who are passionate for their subject matter. Registration and a full listing of workshops is available online at sageschool.org/summer-sage.
